I’ve discovered that gluten makes my Lyme arthritis much worse so have finally managed to cut it out of my diet. Just received so e Bob’s Red Mill sorghum flour in the post and I’m looking forward to exploring more BRM GF offerings in the future.

We eat quinoa fairly often. I’d really like to try some of the other grains. I’ve bought a few but haven’t tried them yet. I need to dig through your recipe archives and find some ideas. Thanks.

I love quinoa as an alternative GF grain. I’m curious as to whether Bob’s Red Mill will pick up amaranth?

    • Dr. Jean Layton August 23, 2013 at 9:31 am #

      Hi Kim,
Bob’s Red Mill includes amaranth in its #GrainsOfDiscovery line. That Hangout on Air is scheduled for 9/25 at 5pm PST. I hope you can join us to watch Kaila Proulx from Healthy Helper Blog, Cynthia Landre from Feeding Big, Amy Kritzer from What Jew Wanna Eat and Alisa Fleming from Go Dairy Free talk all about Amaranth

    • Greg E September 4, 2013 at 11:11 am #

      Hi Kim
Amaranth is one of the Grains of Discovery. I got some, but haven’t tried the recommended recipe as yet. It, like all the grains, looks interesting.

I use quinoa all the time. I mix it 3/4c GFoatmeal to 1/4c quinoa in my oatmeal every morning. I use it in soups, and even pancakes (cook it first). I made a Quinoa Fritatta with all kinds of summer veggies. I love it!
